LGBTQ Asian/Pacific Islander Communities

Based on 2005-2007 figures from the American Community Survey, 549,000 million Asian/Pacific Islander adults in the U.S. are gay, lesbian or bisexual. (There are no existing figures or estimates about the number of transgender and gender non-conforming API people in the U.S.) These diverse LGBTQ API populations span a range of ethnicities and nationalities, and deal with a range of issues. In response, many LGBTQ API organizations and programs have formed around the country. A series of related readings include:
